Another successful day at Hampton Downs this year with 44 cars registered and 6 prestige cars turned out all fired up for a great day of racing.

Although the rain showed itself throughout the day, all levels of drivers were revving their engines and enjoying a fun track day with no major incidents and only a few offs recorded.

Auto One enjoys days like these "It's great to see the turn out" said one of the organisers, Russell from Auto One Morrinsville. Kids in Cars were the recipients from the days racing and it's Auto Ones chosen charity, what a great cause.

This is an annual event, so keep your eyes peeled for next years date. See you on the track!

Every good man needs a project

In 2005, I had what I call a great "barn find", or so I thought. The great purchase was a '69 HT Monaro. After sandblasting, I don't know who got the good deal. This was meant to be a quick little do up and ready by April the next year.

I starting to strip the Monaro down to a bare shell, you guessed it...it was no longer a quick little do up. So I started on my rebuild way back then and it's still going now. In my opinion, you only know what you've got until you do it yourself.

So here's a few pics to show you the beginnings and I will keep you posted, watch this space!
